**Update, July 2026:** OpenAI deprecated GPT-4.5 on July 14, 2025, and the GPT-4.5 Pro and Lite options in Agility Writer were retired with it. This page stays up as the record of what the model did and how it tested, with

You know when content feels like the writer really gets you? GPT-4.5 brought that level of connection through its built-in emotional intelligence. Inside Agility Writer’s workflow, it didn’t just pass originality.ai’s detection, it flowed naturally, showed real personality, and reasoned like a person.

## GPT-4.5 Pro and Lite (retired)

Agility Writer offered two GPT-4.5 models while the underlying model was available.

**GPT-4.5 Pro** offers wider knowledge and improved emotional understanding, and is the top choice for content that won’t get flagged by AI detection tools. It uses our full, established workflow to maximize quality, which makes it our priciest model. Pricing scales by outline count: 6 credits for up to 10 outlines, 10 for 11–20, 14 for 21–30, 18 for 31–40, 22 for 41–50, and 26 for over 50.

**GPT-4.5 Lite** uses advanced prompt engineering and combines multiple models, with GPT-4.5 handling the final output, for excellent human-like content at a lower cost. Its detection avoidance is slightly lower than Pro, and it works best with the Anti-AI Detection Concise Tone style. Pricing: 4 credits for up to 10 outlines, 6 for 11–20, 8 for 21–30, 10 for 31–40, 12 for 41–50, and 14 for over 50.

Offering both lets you match the model to your content needs and budget.

## Tested against originality.ai

Both models were tested extensively against originality.ai (Lite 1.0.0), one of the most rigorous detection tools, using six topics each across niches and the same settings against three models.

## What replaced GPT-4.5

The human-like-content job GPT-4.5 did now belongs to newer models in Agility Writer, each paired with the same writing styles (Humanize, Anti-AI Detection tones, SEO-NLP Friendly) that carried its natural voice:

- **GPT-5** (added August 2025) came with a new writing workflow built for reasoning models, and produces a more natural, cohesive flow across long articles. **GPT 5.2 and 5.4 with DeepPolish+** followed, with 5.2 becoming the recommended default for most article types.
- **Claude 4.5 and 4.6 Sonnet with DeepPolish+** run on a rewritten writing engine (April 2026): data-rich, conversational long-form without the encyclopedic bloat, and the strongest choice for research-heavy pieces.
- The pricing logic also improved: GPT-4.5 carried a 10-25x token premium over other models, while the current premium options run at ordinary credit costs (GPT 5.2 DeepPolish+ was introduced specifically as the lower-cost premium default).

The principle from the GPT-4.5 era still holds: spend your best model on cornerstone content and competitive keywords, not on every supporting post.

Got Questions?

## Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still use GPT-4.5 in Agility Writer?

No. OpenAI deprecated GPT-4.5 on July 14, 2025, and the GPT-4.5 Pro and Lite options were retired with it. For human-like content today, use GPT-5.x or Claude Sonnet with DeepPolish+, paired with the Humanize or Anti-AI Detection writing styles.

What replaced GPT-4.5 for human-like content?

GPT-5 arrived in August 2025 with a new writing workflow, followed by GPT 5.2 and 5.4 with DeepPolish+, and Claude 4.5/4.6 Sonnet with a rewritten DeepPolish+ engine. The writing styles that carried GPT-4.5's natural voice (Humanize, Anti-AI Detection tones, SEO-NLP Friendly) work across all of them.

Do I still need a premium model for every article?

No, and you never did. Spend premium-model credits on pillar content, high-traffic landing pages, and competitive keywords; supporting content does fine on standard models.

Why is GPT-4.5 so expensive?

GPT-4.5 costs 10 to 25 times more than models like Claude, and our workflow uses extensive input prompts. GPT-4.5 charges for both input and output tokens, so the higher price reflects the true operational cost.

How does it compare to other premium AI writing tools?

Some services charge up to $20 per article without actually using GPT-4.5. Agility Writer produces a typical 2,500-word article for under $7 with GPT-4.5 Pro, and around $4.50 with Lite.

Does GPT-4.5 use tricks to beat AI detection?

No. It doesn't add grammar mistakes or awkward sentences to fool detectors. It writes with realistic logic, authentic expression, and emotional intelligence, so the content reads human without faking it.
